Lingering between chaos and creation, MAGGOTAPPLEWONDERLAND fuses a multi-genre audio palette that is as frightening as it is fragile. Six Hits of Sunshine and the Bruises to Show displays a brilliant use of jagged beats, samples and processed guitar juxtaposed against prepared piano, bass guitar, drums and synths.

The concept for the project was brought about by Michael Peck whom enlisted previous band-mates James Keeler and Aaron Jones to assist with source material and tonal diversity. Years went by as material was traded, manipulated and later catalogued for future use. The apple was all but dying on the vine as production came to a halt as both Peck and Keeler focused on solo works and other collaboration projects.

2005 brought about an opportunity that most musicians dream of: three days of recording source material and composing ideas that had once remained dormant. By this time Dan Hall, Josh Moore and David Eubanks had also expressed interest in the concept of MAW and were eager to lend their skills and ideas to an already sturdy platform.

The beauty of MAW is that it does not fit into any one genre. Borrowing sounds and structure from several genres (dark ambient/noise/funk/industrial/metal) has assisted in its diversity and lent itself more to the concept and premise. Simply put, we just want to make music.
